Monster DNA™ Version 2 · Historical Laboratory

WE FOUND A FLAW.
NOW WE TEST IT.

The original Monster Hunt correctly identified several exceptional businesses, but a high fingerprint score did not reliably mean the stock was positioned for the next major move. The highest August fingerprint score was 94, and that case subsequently underperformed. We are preserving that result rather than rewriting history.

What changes in V2: we study what recent Monsters had and what similar-looking losers lacked. Business DNA is no longer allowed to overpower weak expectations, valuation, market confirmation, or Anti-DNA evidence.

THE 100-STOCK LAB

Phase 1 freezes the 25 strongest and 25 weakest liquid S&P 500 outcomes from April 1 through October 1, 2026. Phase 2 adds 50 matched controls that looked plausible on April 1 but produced ordinary results. Every reconstructed score is allowed to use only evidence that existed on or before April 1.

40% · BUSINESS DNAGrowth acceleration, cash flow, margins, demand, moat, balance sheet.
35% · INFLECTION & EXPECTATIONSLatest-quarter change, guidance, estimate revisions, valuation versus growth.
25% · MARKET CONFIRMATIONRelative strength, accumulation, trend quality, drawdown and sector regime.

Anti-DNA penalties then subtract for deterioration, guide-downs, estimate cuts, excessive valuation without improving expectations, dilution, concentration, disruption risk and broken relative strength. An Active Monster must pass every hard gate. A spectacular business can no longer average its way around a fatal weakness.

APRIL → OCTOBER 2026 OUTCOME SEED

These outcomes are known, so this is a development laboratory, not proof of predictive power. The point is to reconstruct what the model could have known on April 1 and determine which evidence separated the future Monsters from the failures.
